Plymouth United Football Club was a football club from Plymouth, Devon, England formed at least by 1886. As a pioneering club in Devon it played against Argyle Football Club in its first season and was a founding member of the Devon County Football Association. A team called Plymouth United was formed in 1944, along with Plymouth City, made up of ex-Plymouth Argyle and local amateurs. They played against local sides and service teams helping to re-establish football in the area. The club won their first award, an FA Respect campaign in 2013/14 season. The Club is a FA Charter Standard Club which is committed to giving local grassroots players the chance to play and train with good facilities to help improve all aspects of their game. The home games are played at University of St Mark & St John on a brand new 3G Artificial turf. The Club has two teams, Plymouth United (A) playing in Division 2 (Plymouth & West Devon Combination Football League (Sundays) ) . Plymouth United (B) playing in Division 3 (Plymouth & West Devon Combination Football League (Sundays) ) respectively. The club is also running a development team for training and friendly matches to bring new players through the club to compete for places in the current two teams and increase the quality at the club.
